While the Elantra Sedan received numerous changes to exterior design for 2014, the Elantra Coupe receives just tweaks to interior design, infotainment, NVH improvements, and a new 2.0L four-cylinder engine.
Only one engine is available in the Elantra Coupe: a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 2.0L four-cylinder with 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the sedan, the 2.0L engine in the Elantra Coupe is available with both a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission.
Trims include GL, GLS, and SE.
Features in GL trim include 2.0L four-cylinder engine, 16-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, electronic brake force distribution, automatic headlights, six-speed manual transmission, 6-way driver's seat, 60/40 split/fold rear seat, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with satellite radio, iPod/USB/auxiliary input, Bluetooth hands free phone system, selectable steering, dual heated power mirrors, heated front seats, air conditioning, power windows with driver's auto down, power locks, rear seat centre armrest, rear lip spoiler, steering wheel mounted cruise/audio/Bluetooth controls, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, vehicle stability management, and electronic stability control with traction control.
GLS adds cloth insert door trim, driver safety window, deluxe sliding centre armrest, mirror-mounted turn signal indicators, fog lights, 4.3-touch-screen with rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, LED taillights, rearview camera, power tilt and slide sunroof, and projection headlights with LED accent.
SE adds six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC, 17-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen navigation system with rearview camera, alloy pedals, external amplifier, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seating surfaces, simulated leather door inserts, power windows with driver's auto up/down and pinch protection, proximity key with push button start, and sport-tuned suspension.
